Syzygy

“Syzygy” has truly a special place in my heart since it is my first acrylic painting I've ever done on a canvas. It shaped my whole perception on how i see art and made me realize painting is what i wanted and needed in my life.
Here is how i see my painting Syzygy;
If you separate the figure and the surrounding area, the lower part of that area is mostly about my past. Framed with aggressive, bold reds (roses). Mid part is about change (Fires and butterflies represent the process of adaptation, letting go and transition to a much better state of mind). Upper part is about mental clarity (Lotus flowers and water droplets) and in the center of the painting there's me experiencing and embracing everything. Pleasant and unpleasant. I think this painting is about feeling grounded and safe in hard times, learning to be grateful for everything that comes in one's way. Being thankful to have the chance to experience love, grief and many great feelings in this universe. There's a very obvious duality in this painting. Which is also about balance. Flower of life represents the universe. Every circle is a part of the universe and I find this sacred geometry one of the best things to look at. I'd like to think about the flower of life in the upper part as the spiritual world and the one on the bottom as the material world. So this painting is also about finding balance between spiritual and material worlds. :)
